The <a href=\"..\/radio\/ft60-ptt.html\">PTT circuit<\/a> I used for the FT60 Raspberry Pi 3B+ works fine so all it needed was to connect up a plug for the front socket as shown here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_1042.png\" src=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_1042.png\" alt=\"Scribbled Pinout \" width=\"598\" height=\"467\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I tested it with <em>Direwolf<\/em> and <em>Xastir<\/em> and it seems to work fine. Here\u2019s an audio clip\u00a0<a title=\"FT290R Packet Audio.flac\" href=\"..\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/FT290R-Packet-Audio.flac\">FT290R Packet Audio.flac<\/a>\u00a0of a packet being sent from the FT290R. I recorded it using <em>Audacity<\/em> from my Alinco DJ-C6.<\/p>\n<p>I had hoped that the extra power (25W) from the FT290R would allow the ISS to hear my packets but I\u2019ve had no joy in the couple of passes I\u2019ve tried so far. I can hear packets fine, but the ISS doesn\u2019t digipeat the ones I\u2019ve sent. I changed the APRS path to just \u2018ARISS\u2019 having read this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.aprs.fi\/2020\/02\/how-aprs-paths-work.html\">aprs.fi blog<\/a>\u00a0but that didn\u2019t help either. Perhaps the ISS needs to be at a higher elevation.
