{"id":267,"date":"2021-02-21T15:39:16","date_gmt":"2021-02-21T15:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/?p=267"},"modified":"2021-02-21T15:42:00","modified_gmt":"2021-02-21T15:42:00","slug":"morse-sending-tutor-mock-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/?p=267","title":{"rendered":"Morse Sending Tutor Mock-up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I realised that now I\u2019ve made a <a href=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/?p=229\">CW Sidetone Oscillator<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/?p=233\">Morse Keyer<\/a> and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/radio\/goertzel.html\">Morse Decoder<\/a>, I could make a useful tutor for testing my sent morse.<\/p>\n<p>The trick of sending good morse is in the timing. Getting the inter-character and inter-word gaps the correct length is quite difficult especially at higher speeds. So a tutor to check this could be a big help.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Morse Sending Tutor Diagram.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Morse-Sending-Tutor-Diagram.jpg\" alt=\"Morse Sending Tutor Diagram\" width=\"599\" height=\"418\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So I lashed this together using a breadboard to do the connections.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_0070.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/IMG_0070.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG 0070\" width=\"599\" height=\"305\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And tested it as seen in this video: <a title=\"Morse Tutor Demo.mov\" href=\"https:\/\/fletch.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Morse-Tutor-Demo.mov\">Morse Tutor Demo.mov.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see it\u2019s very rough and ready. If I were to make a proper version I\u2019d remove the WPM and tuning aid on the top line which aren\u2019t necessary.
